Host view & teleprompter

Host view is the screen a host keeps open on air: the live story in large type on one side, the show queue on the other, with a big timer in the middle. From it, one click opens a full teleprompter in its own window. Both follow the producer automatically — when the next story goes live, your screen updates instantly. Host view is desktop-only; on a phone you are routed to the board.

Layout

By default the screen is split between the current story and the queue. The layout menu in the header offers Split 50/50, Split 60/40, Split 70/30, and Story Full. Keyboard shortcuts: S for story-full, Q for queue-full, and 1, 2, 3 for the split presets. Your choice is remembered on this device.

The current story panel

The live story shows its title, type, planned duration, and assigned host, followed by the story notes in large, readable type. Below that:

• My Notes (Private) — a notes box only you can see. It saves automatically when you click away from it. Each teammate has their own private notes on every story.
• Sources — the story's source links, collapsible.
• Attachments — images and files, collapsible; click one to open it in a new tab.

The show queue

The queue panel lists the live story (Now Live), the next story (Up Next), and everything after in order. Drag items to reorder — and dragging a story to the top of the queue puts it live. The Back and Next buttons in the header step through the queue the same way the producer's controls do.

The header also shows a LIVE badge while the show is live, the show timer (click it to toggle to a wall clock), and a Flash button for flash messages.

The teleprompter

Click Teleprompter in the host view header to open the teleprompter in a new tab. It always displays the story that is currently live: the story's notes, plus your private notes for that story, in large scrolling text. When the producer advances to the next story, the teleprompter switches and the scroll resets.

Controls (move the mouse to reveal them; they hide after a few seconds while scrolling):

• Play/pause auto-scroll — button or Space.
• Back to top — press Home to jump to the top of the script and pause, ready for the next take.
• Scroll speed — 10 to 200 pixels per second, via the buttons, the settings slider, or the left/right arrow keys.
• Text size — 24 to 72 pixels, via the buttons, the slider, or + and -.
• Mirror mode — press M or use the flip button to mirror the display horizontally for reflective teleprompter glass.
• Fullscreen — press F or use the fullscreen button.
• Up/down arrow keys or the mouse wheel nudge the scroll position manually.

The settings panel (gear icon) also picks what to display: the story's main notes, your private notes, or both. A fixed line near the top of the screen marks the reading position, a progress bar along the bottom shows how far through the story you are, and the header shows the show timer or wall clock. Your speed, size, mirror, and content settings are saved per user in the browser, so they are there next show.

Foot pedals & Stream Deck

Because every teleprompter control is a keyboard shortcut, any device that can send a keystroke can drive the prompter hands-free — an Elgato Stream Deck (stock Hotkey actions), the Stream Deck Pedal, or any USB foot switch. A common pedal setup: middle switch Space for play/pause, left ← slower, right → faster, with Home on a deck key to reset to the top between takes.
