Storage & attachments
Attach files to stories, understand where they are stored, and connect Google Drive for large files.
Stories can carry attachments — scripts, images, audio, video, and documents. Small files are stored on OnAirFlow-managed storage (Cloudflare R2) with no setup. For large files like video, an admin connects your organization's own Google Drive, and anything over a configurable size threshold uploads directly there instead.
Attach files to a story
Producers and admins can upload attachments; hosts cannot.
- Open a story in the story editor.
- Add your file in the attachments area.
- The file appears on the story for the whole team.
Supported file types: JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP images; PDF; MP3 and WAV audio; MP4 and QuickTime video; plain text, Markdown, CSV, and JSON; and Word documents (.doc, .docx).
Uploads through the app are limited to 50 MB per file. If a file is over your organization's size threshold (see below), it needs Google Drive — without a connection, the upload is rejected with a message asking your admin to connect Google Drive in Settings.
Producers and admins can also delete attachments, and can set an attachment as the story's cover.
Included storage by plan
OnAirFlow-managed storage is capped by plan: 1 GB on Creator, 10 GB on Studio, and unlimited on Newsroom. Files stored in your own Google Drive never count toward this cap. If an upload would exceed your cap, the app tells you and points you to Billing & plans.
Connect Google Drive
Connecting Drive is per organization and requires the admin role.
- Go to Settings, then open Cloud Storage under Integrations.
- Click Connect Google Drive and approve access in the Google consent screen.
- Back in OnAirFlow, the page shows Connected to Google Drive with the connected Google account and the Drive folder OnAirFlow uses.
Once connected, large files upload directly from the browser to your Drive folder. Teammates can download those files from OnAirFlow without needing a Google account of their own.
If the connection breaks (for example, revoked access), the Cloud Storage page shows a Connection Issue notice with a Reconnect Google Drive link, and large uploads fail until you reconnect.
Set the file size threshold
The threshold decides which storage a file goes to: files at or under it go to OnAirFlow-managed storage, files over it go to your Google Drive.
- On the Cloud Storage page, find File Size Threshold.
- Choose a preset: 10 MB, 25 MB, 50 MB, or 100 MB.
The default is 25 MB. The threshold can only be changed while Google Drive is connected.
Disconnect Google Drive
On the Cloud Storage page, click Disconnect. Disconnecting does not delete anything — files already uploaded remain accessible — but new uploads over the threshold will fail until you connect Drive again.
Agents and attachments
AI agents can upload and delete story attachments through the API and hosted MCP, but agent uploads always go to your connected Google Drive — an organization without Drive connected gets a clear error instead. See the agent documentation for details.
