Search & notifications

OnAirFlow keeps your team oriented in two ways: search and filters for finding stories — on today's board or across your entire show history — and mention notifications so nothing said in a story's comments gets missed. Everything here is scoped to your organization; search never returns another team's stories.

Searching stories

The story search box lives in the Archive page header. Press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to jump to it from the keyboard, or click into the Search stories... field.

Search matches story titles and notes. Results appear as you type (from two characters), each showing the story title, the show date it belongs to, the board column it sits in, and its type badge (National or Local). Click a result to jump to that story. Press Escape to close the dropdown.

Because notes are indexed too, search is the fastest way to answer "how did we cover this last time?" — including anything pasted or generated into the notes field (see Connect your AI assistant).

The Archive's Stories tab offers a heavier-duty version of the same search with host, type, and date-range filters plus pagination — better for research sessions than quick lookups. See Exports & archive.

Filtering the board

During a show you usually don't want to search history — you want to thin out the board in front of you. Click the Filter button in the board header to open the filter bar:

• Type — National or Local stories only.
• Tag — any tag currently in use on your stories; the list is built from your organization's actual tags.
• Host — stories assigned to a specific host.

Active filters appear as removable chips, and a Clear button resets everything. Filters are per-user and per-session — they change what you see, not what teammates see, and they clear when you switch shows.

Mentions in comments

Every story has a comment thread. To get a teammate's attention, mention them:

• @name for single-word names.
• @"First Last" (in quotes) for names with spaces.
• @everyone to notify the whole organization.

Mentioned users get a notification with a preview of the comment; matching is case-insensitive against team members' names. You are never notified for your own mentions, and @everyone excludes the author too.

The notification bell

The bell icon in the board header shows a badge with your unread count. Click it to open the notification list — unread items first, each showing who mentioned you, in which story, the comment preview, and how long ago. Clicking a notification marks it read and opens that story directly, so you land in the conversation with context. Mark all read clears the badge in one click.

Notifications persist until read: mentions that arrive while you are offline are waiting the next time you open OnAirFlow.

Real-time toasts

If you are online when someone mentions you, a toast slides in immediately — labeled New Mention for a direct mention or @everyone for a team-wide one — with the comment preview. It auto-dismisses after a few seconds, or you can dismiss it manually; either way the notification stays in your bell until you read it. During a live show this is the difference between a producer's note reaching the host now versus after the segment.

Tips

• Standardize a few tags (beats, sponsors, recurring segments) — the tag filter and archive search get dramatically more useful when tagging is consistent.
• Use @everyone sparingly; it notifies every member of the organization.
• If a mention doesn't land, check the spelling against the person's name in your team list — mentions match names, not email addresses.
